What’s the unique selling point of weddings at Slaugham Place?
The grounds and ruins at Slaugham Place are some of the most important and significant Grade II listed Elizabethan national treasures in the country. Hosting your wedding within such an historically charged environment offers a truly unique experience. Unlike many outdoor venues we also hold a licence for marriages so you can also have your wedding ceremony in the grounds under the magnificent arches! Weddings here are a "once in a lifetime" experience.
Can you tell me more about my wedding day at Slaugham Place?
Firstly Super Event offer a great care service for each and every client. It’s never "just another wedding". Each wedding reception is tailored to each client's individual requirements to make your day unique to you. We also make sure all our wedding couples have a fabulous and fun wedding day party. We like to say “yes” to as many requests as we can however demanding or esoteric!
What does the catering & marquee package at Slaugham include?
Super event have catered for in excess of 2500 weddings over the years, and know what couples need. Super Event will always aim for complete transparency when it comes to cost. The catering fees include, staff, equipment, food, glasses, all linen, marquees tables, chairs dance floor etc. We encourage all couples to ask any questions they wish and we try and make sure we have no hidden costs.
You say your drinks package is "unlimited". What does that mean exactly?
In layman's terms, from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave there is no limit on consumption. We do not say “One glass off this,one glass of that”. Our fixed price deal is simply unlimited consumption of premium brand drinks.
Some of my wedding guests have specific dietary needs, is that a problem?
Super Event have accommodated almost every diet over the years. Vegetarian, fat free, gluten free, nut allergies… and many others. Simply let us know what the special diet requirement is and rest assured we will provide and delicious experience for those guests who may need that little extra assistance.
We are planning quite a large event, what are the maximum number of guests?
In over 20 years, we have never come across a wedding we cannot accommodate at Slaugham Place. The grounds are magnificent and extensive and this affords great scope for scalability. In short, we simply erect a bigger marquee and bring in the required staff to suit larger wedding parties.
What is “closing time" at Slaugham Place?
Many outdoor venues do not allow weddings to carry on late into the night. Due to trading restrictions and consideration for our neighbours, we stop music and close the bar at Slaugham at midnight. This is a polite signal to all to say the event has come to an end. That said we do not throw guests out at midnight! A good 30-45 minutes (often longer) is needed for guests to say their polite good byes and express the thanks and best wishes to the bridal party. It is common for some guests to be leaving Slaugham Place at 1am and not unheard of to be a bit later! We just ask our clients to respect the neighbours and leave with the minimum of noise.
We have number of children within our wedding party. How do we accommodate them and make sure they have a truly fun day?
We welcome children, and most weddings at Slaugham Place have children among the wedding party. Whilst we do not offer any services directly ourselves, do please bring along garden games or any third party staff you need to entertain children. For our part we will provide children friendly food, soft drinks and child friendly staff.
We see the extensive grounds at Slaugham Place, how can we take advantage of these beautiful grounds?
We welcome our wedding guests to explore the grounds and take full advantage with their photographer, videographer or drone filiming. Often couples will take photos before the great day too. As to fun and games on the day, we've had croquet matches, tug of war, football, rugby and cricket games on the green in front of the marquee. We have accommodated almost every garden game you might think of! If it’s safe, we will always try and say yes and accommodate your request but do please ask us before if your plans carry any kind of health and safety risk.
What kinds of wedding have you hosted at Slaugham Place?
From grooms arriving on white stallions to couples flying in by helicopter, we have had all kinds of wedding ceremonies at Slaugham Place. We have had every kind of car one could imagine drive into the very heart of our Elizabethan ruins. We like to say "yes" at Slaugham Place, so if you have a unique idea; if we can do it, we will do it!
Do you think wedding insurance is important?
Sadly from time to time illness falls upon a family; an accident or other event. A wedding is one of the biggest days of your life so we do encourage all our wedding couples to buy wedding insurance to cover unfortunate events. It’s actually a relatively modest cost. Talk to us before you buy, we will point you in the right direction.
Can we have fireworks at our wedding at Slaugham Place?
Due to the proximity of wildlife, livestock and horses we sadly cannot allow fireworks at Slaugham Place. Due to proximity of specimen trees, we also do not allow oriental open flamed sky lanterns to be launched from the grounds.
