Slaugham Place General Terms & Conditions
Please see our privacy policy for the terms of use for this web site.
Behaviour
When at Slaugham Place, we ask you in particular to respect our neighbours. Slaugham Place is a quiet and private location and whilst we want you to have fun during your visit we will also not tolerate inapporpriate behaviour. In such eventualities you may be asked to leave the premises by the organisers.
The Elizabethan ruins
Visitors must be aware that climbing on the ruins is not allowed by anyone at any time.
The ruins are of particular interest to small children so children must be supervised and we cannot take any responsibility for injuries or other losses sustained from climbing on the ruins should they be tempted!
The Elizabethan moat & bridges
The moat is a deep span of water and particular care must be exercised when walking around the moat and over bridges, especially if you have young children on site. Again, we cannot take any responsibility for injuries or other losses sustained from anyone falling (or being pushed) into the moat.
Midnight Curfew
We have a specific "curfew" at midnight after which guests must leave (music at 11pm), but we do appreciate guests need time to leave and relax and can be flexible.
Fireworks & “Chinese Lanterns”
Sadly we are not able to allow fireworks or open flame aerial lanterns to be launched at Slaugham Place. This is due to the proximity of livestock and specimen trees.
Pets and other animals
Unless specific requests are made in advance, we do not allow domestic pets on site. This is because of livestock and other animals in nearby fields. Of course we do allow some exceptions, e.g. guide dogs for the blind. Please inform us if you intend to bring pets.
We have had weddings on horseback at Slaugham Place, so if you do have an unusual request for animals (e.g. horses) then please contact us with your requirements and we will always try to accommodate your request if it is reasonable.
Helicopters
There is room for helicopters to land at Slaugham Place. Again please get in touch if you are considering arrival by helicopter. Permission must be sought in advance.
Vehicular Access
Subject to ground conditions, it is possible to drive into the walled garden. We have had many weddings with (for example) classic cars into the main walled grounds. However, if there has been heavy rain in the days prior to your event, it is not advisable to drive into the walled garden. If you decide to take the risk, any damage to the lawns must be repaired at the hirers expense.
Drone video filming
Filming by drone is allowed but permission and appropriate insurance cover must be in place. We cannot accept any liability for injuries or other incidents resulting from drone use. Please get in touch to secure permissions.
Damage to property
You must exercise due care and attention when visiting Slaugham Place. Damage to property, however unlikely, is the responsibility of the person or persons hiring the venue. This includes damage to walls, ruins etc and guests cars. We cannot be held responsible for damage to (or thefts from) guests cars whilst on site. Visitors must adequately insure themselves against such events.
